kinda reminds me of that one thing I heard some 15 years ago, there was this guy once, they called him the umbrella killer, he used to murder his targets with an umbrella that shot a small poisons round from its tip , he was a mean bastard in the cold war era. Im sure that this ep was a reference to that guy.

the interesting part to that story is it's true, the person(s) and weapons used were member(s) of one (or more) of the intelligence agencies in Europe during that period. the pellet was a modified form of gelatin that would dissolve very quickly either under the skin or if the assassin missed the pellet would vanish also. the killer(s) used ricin powder mixed into the gelatin as their poison of choice. since they used ricin they often shot their targets in the lower leg or foot using those umbrellas while they walked past the target on the street. in extremities a small dose of ricin won't spread quickly and kill the target right when the assassin was walking past. also, since the pellets were so tiny the targets only felt a slight stabbing pain like they had been bitten by a bug. several umbrellas over the years modified like this with a tiny carbon dioxide filled cartridge and a trigger in the umbrella handles have been found in Europe. the specific assassins who wielded them haven't been identified though.
